can i kill my car battery by running a 500 watt subwoofer for 5 minutes

without the engine? i did that and then i went to start the engine and it cranked slow the clicked. i am just having trouble comprehending that the battery died that quickly. i just hooked up the amp and sub so it wasnt drawing power before i hooked it up right before trying it
