ok, i'm going to job corps very soon and i need to know if i need to get my GED or my high school diploma, in order to enlist in the army reserves. because my local recruiter said i could join if i have a GED, however in other branches you are required to have like so many hours or credits in college along with the GED, but the recruiter said nothing of the sort for the army, so can someone help me on this? can i join with just a GED or not?

I was pretty sure that they changed it recently so that you couldn't join any branch of the military with a GED, but I could be wrong. If I were you, and this is something your really interested in doing, I would just go ahead and get your high school diploma. It looks a lot better, and it would save you a lot of time and work in the long run...
Good luck!

Everything that Buckeye Fever said! And with a GED they will run you in the Army as an 11Mike, which is a high school equivalent. The reason for the college hours is that it shows classroom time. And if you decide to just go for the GED and then go for college credits, online class's count" even though there is no classroom time". I think that you should just go for High School Diploma.

If you have a GED, you will need college hours as well. Entrance into any branch vs that branches reserve units have the same requirements.

Why not just get a high school diploma, its not difficult. Also a High School diploma looks MUCH better than a "Good Enough Degree". A GED says that you had trouble in basic studies of high school, a diploma will look sharper on resumes.
