Can I jail break my 3GS with the version 4.1 ??? And the site that has lifetime

jailbreaks work ?? 12/22/10? I'm reading it will and won't, but those wee asked months ago... What's the current answer? I'm tempted to pay the $30 because it says easy five minute one button push download... So if it does work then the $30 is worth it to me for a piece of mind jailbreaking
