My car is having problems and my parents have agreed to let me use one of theirs until I can get a new one. I live in Florida and they live in Illinois. The car will remain in their name and I will take out a temporary insurance policy in my name until I get my own vehicle.
My question is , can I get a ticket/fine if the car is in their name (with Illinois plates) but my name is on the insurance?
We don't want to transfer the title from Illinois to Florida if it's only a temporary situation and have to pay 2 sets of registration/title fees for such a short time.
