Can i install Flash Player in my Mini Dell netbook?

I have a mini 9 inch netbook dell, and when I try to install a pop up says 'Are you sure you want to install flash player? it may cause harm to your computer!' so of course i chose cancel, but i wanna know if anybody has done it and some feedback on how it works. maybe some one knows whether its safe or not please help thanks!
 
I have an acer aspire one netbook 8.9", and I have flash player, I don`t see it could do any harm.
You can always uninstall, but I don`t think that would be necessary, a lot of sites won`t work properly without it.
If you`re on Vista, it tends to be over cautious.
