Can I hook up a Subwoofer to my Sony VAIO Laptop?

I've got a Sony Vaio laptop with a speaker system plugged into the headphone jack and it sounds great.

BUT I am wondering if there is any way to attach a powered subwoofer to my laptop while keeping the speakers plugged into the headphone jack.

(How and which cords will I need to do this if it is possible?)
