modem w/o hooking it up? I have a desktop computer that's connected to my modem by ethernet cable and which also connects my family members computers via cable to the same modem. I have a wii console and a laptop that are already hooked up to that modem via wire-less in another room, but the signal is a little weak for both of them. Can I connect a linksys router to my closest computer to boost the signal to my wii and my laptop with out connecting the linksys router to the modem but to my computer?
