Can I hook up a drum trigger to my PC and write sheet music?

I saw this on Drumline if you have ever seen the movie. Anyways in the movie they had a Snare drum hooked up to Trigger on the edge of the drum. As the played some software wrote the sheet music. Is there anyway I could do this?
