I'm going to Turkey in May next year. One of the things that I'd like to do is hike up Mount Nemrut, with the ancient statues. I've had a little look into it, and I know I have to somehow get to a town called Kahta. I will be in Göreme, in Cappadocia so I hope I can get a bus or something from there (if anyone could give an idea of how I would go about it, how long it would take, I would be very grateful). But then when I get to Kahta, I want to go up Mt. Nemrut. However, I don't want to take a guided tour. I am very happy to have a good days hiking up and down if thats what it takes, I'm healthy and have done a bit of hiking before. Are there buses from Kahta to the bottom of the mountain/start of the trail if there is one? I know that if I dont think about this kind of thing till I get there, I'll end up getting ripped off and having to go with a big group, I am a dumb tourist after all. Thanks very much.
