Can i have sex if im getting contractions?

I started getting contractions at 7 months and they told me not to have intercourse since its suppose to help u contract...and they also gave me some medicine called terbutaline to stop the contractions. anyways im 37 weeks now and im having my baby next tuesday :) u think i can have sex now? or maybe a day before i have my baby just in case??
 
Can't you just wait one week? I mean parenting is all about putting your child first.
 
I had to go through the same thing as you. My baby was trying to come early so that put me on the medicine that you are taking and told me to not have sex or drink caffeine because it could cause me to go into labor. I was also monitored for one hour in the morning and evening to track the contractions. Any way, you should listen to your doctor because that is his job to know what is best for you and the baby. If he tells you not to have sex you should avoid sexual activity until four to six weeks after you have the baby. Unless you are having a c-section than you would want to consult with your doctor about when you start having sex again. But at this point the health of your child should be more important.
 
my best friend just had her baby and when it was about the time for her to go into labor she was having sex a lot b/c her dr said it will bring along contractions and it worked! if youre due in a few days i think you'll be fine but you should call your doc just to be on the safe side, you dont want to risk anything with the baby over sex! good luck, congrats!
