Hi,
I have a toyota corolla 2000 CE 4-Dr Sedan. I bought this from a guy last year. He had a P185/65 R14 tire on it running for 25k miles. When I changed the tires last month, I too didn't notice the tire size inside the glove box so I had P185/65 R14 on them as well.

But the Original size recommended for my car is P175/65 R14. I noticed this a couple of days back. I'm planning to change it to P175/65 R14.

Had wrong size tires on my car would have damaged anything other than Speedometer errors?

No. That has nothing to do with it, as long as youre not rubbing along the sidewall you should be fine, i would put 18's on a corolla.

I wouldn't bother changing tires, those 185s are slightly wider, and a fraction of an inch taller. So your speedo will read slightly slower, like 1-2mph.

nothing bad would happen. your speedometer might be off but not but much(2 or 3 mph).
