Can i have a smear test anytime, help?

Can i go for a smear test anytime or do i need to wait for another invitation. I was 21 at the beginning of the month and i got my 1st invitation last march when i turned 20, i got a few more during the year but i just ignored them, but now i want to go for one. plz help xxx
 
You usually go once a year if you are sexually active or once every two years if you are not. They send you the reminder cards because appointments for a yearly exam are usually booked two and three months from when you call. If you have insurance, it will usually only pay for one Pap smear every one to two years (check your insurance booklet).
