Can I go to jail for not returning dvds to an ex-friend?

When I moved a few months ago I mistakenly packed up three dvds that I had borrowed from a friend (at the time). Since then she has gotten into an argument with my sister and they are no longer friends, so now we aren't friends either. She text me to please return them and I told her that I would bring them back when I came home for Easter and didn't get a reply back. Tonight, I get a phone call from her local police department (at 10:45 PM) telling me I have until Monday to return the three dvds. I obviously cannot get home to do this and going to the post office is not an option since I work on Saturdays. When I told him there was nothing I could do about it this weekend, the police officer told me that I would look really silly sitting in jail for not returning dvds???? He seriously said that. I personally don't feel that I didn't steal them from her, it wasn't theft if she let me borrow them. I don't understand why I would go to jail for three dvds. Is this even possible? Or is he just trying to scare me?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
And I did think the call was fake, because it was so late at night and it was right after this girl would have gotten off work. I checked the number from caller ID and it was indeed the police station for her town.
