I'm thinking about becoming an elementary school teacher. I know that you don't have to go to grad school to become a teacher, but I want to anyway. I'm currently pursuing a B.A in Sociology, so obviously I do not have any classes in education. but if I am allowed to go to grad school for a masters in elementary education, I will be qualified.
Basically, will I be accepted into a graduate program for Education if I did not major it in as an undergrad? I have experience with children if that helps, and I'm planning to become a teacher's assistant after I graduate.
if the answer is no, then will I need to get another degree in Education, or do I just need to take certain classes to be able to go to grad school for the program?
