Can I go back to my home country working as a private linguist with the US military...

...(Details below)? Well, I become a green card holder about a year and half after coming here as a refugee with my parents, I was 20 years old at the time I came here. I'm wondering if I can get a linguist job working with the US military, which will mean I will most likely be deployed to my home country. It's a private contractor job, so I won't be a soldier. I know that if I go back to my home country it will most likely mean I will lose my green card and/or not be able to apply for citizenship. But what if I take a contractor job in the US and be deployed to Iraq? Will be the same? Thanks. I can't find an answer anywhere on the web.
Sorry, I meant became*
I meant well* lol
We;; that's not my question. There are a few linguist jobs for GC holders that don't require intelligence, so that's not my problem.
