I've pretty much finished my second year at a top university here in the U.S. working towards an engineering degree, but this major has really not worked out for me. I love math and physics and I study a lot but I get nothing but C's and D's and it is just not clicking for me.
I'm considering a change in major but I don't know what to do!
For a while now, I've been getting more interested in medicine and am considering going for a much 'easier' major like Hispanic Studies or Cognitive Science to raise my GPA and the doing a post-bacc to meet my premed requirements. Then I found out that one has to do residency for 4 to 12 years after medical school and that became a big negative for me.
My counselor yesterday got me thinking about law school, saying that I could find a lot of success in that field. He recommended switching to Philosophy if I were to choose to go to law school. I like his idea a lot, but then again, I like using numbers a lot and I wouldn't see a lot of them in that field, so I don't know. I'm also strongly considering doing dentistry, which is a field I find pretty interesting.
All I know is that I want to leave college going in the direction of a great professional career and being able to provide for my family. What do people recommend?
