Can I get good road bikes for ~$80 at Walmart?

I'm just looking for a decent road bike or mountain bike to get around my college campus (about 26" adult). Probably will use it for the next 3-4 years. I was looking at Walmart's offerings and I saw some NEXT bikes that seem within my price range and look good.

Are they fine? I don't wanna spend $150 on a bike that doesn't have much more useful features than the cheaper ones. Functionality > Aesthetics for me. So, any recommendations? Or do other stores have them for cheaper? I'm not looking to buy online either.

Thanks to anyone who replies. Any suggestions welcomed.

Well you sound set on buying a bike from Wal-Mart.

The 2 wheeled toys sold at Wal-Mart will give you nothing but headaches. If you are a proficient in bicycle mechanics you could probably nurse 2-3 years from one if you don't ride more than a mile a day.

Remember. You are looking for transportation from a "toy". If you are serious about a bicycle as transportation, it costs more than your budget these days. Sorry. Honest evaluation.

You would be better off buying a cruiser or single speed bike (than any Wal-Mart bike). NO, they are not decent. You start your question stating you're looking for a decent road or mountain bike -- decent bikes aren't sold at Wal-Mart.
