Can I get an unlocked Blackberry Bold and not pay the data plan for Verizon?

I really want to get a blackberry bold, but I don't want to pay the extra 30 bucks a month for internet I wouldn't use. Plus, it's too expensive. I'm with Verizon, can I get this blackberry and activate it without paying for the plan?
