Can i get a Nextel phone when i have a sprint contract?

I want to get the BlackBerry Curve 8350i but my parents are like no its Nextel not sprint and we have sprint. So are my parents wrong and can i get the blackberry?
Actually, we went in there and they said no we can't get it.
 
yes, Your parents can add a nextel phone to thier account and it will have a separate contract term. You should be pretty cell phone savvy though. The 8350i can be complicated. Your parents can even have the Nextel phone share minutes with thier current plan for probably $20 per month. You'll have unlimited Direct Connect.
