Can I get a bash guard on my mountain bike without having to get ride of my 3rd gear?

I have a Trek 3700 mountain bike, and due to the cold weather i have started wearing pants and tucking them into my show so it doesn't get stuck in the chain or cassette. Im really getting sick of doing that so i want a guard to protect my pant leg from the cassette. But, i also use this bike for the road so i want to keep my 3rd gear, is there a guard i can get without having to take off my 3rd gear?
