Can i fight in court for a dog?

Hi my sister and her husband own an english bulldog but they neglect it and beat it. It has one of those chips in it like if the dog is lost or stolen. Can i fight for the dog in court because it gets kicked and hit and is never fed or watered. The dog warden has been called on it several times over the issues now the owners have moved and i know for a fact they keep it locked in the garage and they never walk him or let him out. I am 16 years old and the dogs name is bruiser and hes my buddy i really need the help of Y!A so i can get the dog before its seriously hurt or worset death!
we also called spca but they didnt say anything
i tryed to ask for the dog and my grandpa was also worried about the dog he said if you give steven the dog(me) ill cancel all they money you owe me which is still about 4,000$ yes i put 4,000$ dollars
I also live in the state of ohio but we contacted humane society and everything even the dog warden himself
and i dont talk to my sister or her family anymore because there is what i would call a war between them and my whole family
and 1 more detail the every single neighbor on that side of the street will even agree with me on my behalf they felt sorry for the poor thing they fed him and watered him almost as much as i did the mail lady almost stole and taken it to animal rescue because of the poor thing

These cases aren't usually heard in court. You might have to get visual evidence of what is going on so the Warden will actually take away the dog. Ask their neighbours for help as well, like statements if they hear or see the dog getting neglected/abused.

well the truth is u cant....if u really love it why don't u take it from them...............speak to them franky about it and u'll win for sure..........or atleast tell them that they are not taking good care of it..and if they cant take care of it tell them to give it to u..
BYE...

Unfortunately, without proof that it could be your dog and it got stolen or something, you can't go to court over it. I would keep calling animal control, SPCA, whatever. Maybe if you do have proof of them abusing it (and lots of proof) you can actually walk into the local SPCA and show them?

I would highly suggest contacting your local SPCA or humane society. If not, try contacting the ASPCA here in NYC. They are (unfortunately) heavily versed in animal cruelty cases. Either organization will have more information about how to get this poor dog out of its cruel environment. Perhaps they can appoint an animal lawyer in your area to fight for custody on your behalf.

Solid proof of mistreatment would help your case (but do not put yourself at risk by any means!). And your age limits your ability to claim the dog yourself (you're still a minor — but if your parents are willing to claim custody themselves it will help).

I'm very sorry to hear about this situation, but you really must refer to someone more experience in animal law and custody rights to give you proper grounds for getting this dog out of this environment.
