Can I feel my coccyx moving?

Hi everyone -

When I'm sitting, if I shift my weight from side to side I can feel sort of like a marble moving right between the cleft of my buttocks. I can't move the tailbone itself with my fingers, so I think it might actually be rubbing against the inside of my skin or something.

Am I sitting on my tailbone? My ass has looked a little flat lately and my hips hurt like crazy sometimes (not all the time - mostly in the morning and at night, I've found, but they can also hurt during the day when I'm sitting or laying down. By hips I mean the center and both sides, sometimes one side more than the other). If I change the way I'm sitting I can no longer feel the "marble".

I do not have a Pilonidal cyst, that I'm sure of.

I can't imagine that's it's broken; I haven't fallen on my back in the last few years and, like I said, it only hurts some of the time.

I have lost over 100 pounRAB over the last year and a half. This is due to a sudden change in environment - the food that I used to binge on just wasn't there anymore. I am a lot skinnier than I have ever been. Do thin people normally feel their coccyx when sitting?

Sidenotes:

It's worth mentioning that my lymph nodes on both sides of my neck and groin have been swollen for three and a half months. The MRI showed that the biggest one was almost 2 CM but I've talked to three doctors and none of them are worried. I don't know if this is at all related.

Also, I'm having some peripheral neuropathy (sharp pains in tips of fingers and toes) and a slight twitch by my nose that has subsided a little. I don't know if either of these symptoms are related to anything.

The coccyx is attached by ligaments to the sacrum so in theory ligaments can move. You could even be feeling ligament inflammation or movement.

Oh, interesting!

I have been having bad hip pain (like I said) for a while. I switched shoes and that improved things a little.

my last CBC was good except monocytes (which were 14). I heard monocytes go up with inflamation. Is it possible the ligaments around my coccyx are inflamed due to wearing poor shoes for so long?
