can i download ps3 demo websites to a flash drive then put them in the PS3?

i want to download demo ps3 games from websites and i want to no if i can put them in a flash drive the put them in the ps3 will they work and if u ask y download them form websites rather usin pse store cuz my modem disconnected a lot for some reason and then is a way faster .
