yes but why would you want to join the coast guard? the have a horrible reputation after being all over the news cause of that girl that was raped at Station Burlington, VT. What happened to her on the hand of her shipmates is now public knowledge and the first thing that goes on people 's minds when they think of the Coast Guard,

as for your question there is a program for juniors w/ parents permission. one summer basic, next summer A-school. talk to a recruiter.

You get paid as an E1 during basic which is basically a joke.
