even if i majored in education? i have always wanted to join the military. either air force or army. but i keep changing my career. at first i was going to major in psychology, then medicine, then criminal justice....but i start college in august and i finally know what i want to do! i want to be a teacher. maybe jr high or high school. and i know if u do rotc in college you have to commit to four years following college. would they still be able to accomodate me in the military if i had a education degree? what would i be doing?
ok....

but neither of you answered my question.
all i want to know is if i did rotc in college and majored in education, how could i use that degree in the military

You only have to commit to service if you take the Advanced Course, which is your Junior and Senior year.

You can take it for the first 2 years and not have to commit to any service.

If you get a scholarship(which I doubt you will with an education major) than you are obligated to at least 3 years of active duty on an 8 year contract. If you do the program without a scholarship you are obligated to serve 2 years of active duty.
