can i do marching band if im a seventh day advent?

i recently became a seventh day advent like 2 months ago. before that i went to a non denomination church. im also involved in band at school and am quite good at it. my goal is to get a scholarship for a full ride to college for my instrument. but mom mom says that i cant march because our competitions on saturday.
