Can I do anything to treat a hard cyst from a puncture wound?

This summer, around mid July, I stepped on a piece of glass from a broken mirror. The piece of glass was about 3/4 of a centimeter and went in nearly all the way. It did, of course, bleed quite a bit, but I was anxious to meet some friends at the lake. I foolishly slapped on a band-aid and went on my way. Now, in November, approximately four months later, there is still a hard, red bump where the glass punctured my skin. It is slightly raised and doesn't appear to contain any sort of fluid that could be drained.

The small red bump, which I have concluded is a hard cyst, has been the only complication that came from the glass puncture; I never observed any sort of infection. However, this bump is rather bothersome, and though not quite painful, I would be glad to be rid of it. The only information I have found online is its prevention; is there anything I can do to treat it?

I should note that I am currently a college student with terrible health insurance; paying for a doctor appointment is not an option right now. I would appreciate any answers that don't involve selling a kidney to pay for a doctor visit.
