can i divide a 30 gallon fish tank and put on one side salt water and the other

side fresh water? cause i got an empty 30 gallon tank and i wanted to noe if i could do that so i can buy it and what do i need thanks i will really thanks full
 
No that will be quiet impossible..Freshwater and saltwater are two big different setup, care and almost everything is different...sorry you can't do that. I say it's best to use the 30 gallon as a freshwater and start a 10 gallon saltwater tank. Saltwater is nothing to play with because almost everything about it is expensive and you need to full time as much attention as possible; that's why i recommend you to start with a 10 gallon and then work your way up once you master it.
 
Nope. That would require completely sealing both sides from each other, and having two sets of filters, heaters and everything else on each side. Youd spend so much money on that, it isnt even worth it.

If you want both, just get another 30 gallon. Thatd still be cheaper than spending all that money to divide a tank.

Saltwater tanks are so much different than freshwater. Water quality has to be perfect. If you are just starting a saltwater, I would recommend at least a 20 gallon tank, but the 30 gallon would be even better. Larger volumes of water take longer to make a change, so youd have more time to fix it before it became lethal.
