...live in Texas FYI? In Texas, is there any way I can dismiss my speeding ticket (11mph over limit) even though I took defensive driving within 12 months earlier this year?

I remember I was able to a few years ago through something called deposition or something like that. Also the defensive driving teacher said you always could take it if you're under 25. The cop told me I can't.

Does anyone know??

Nope sounds like ur stuck with it. you can get a ticket dismissed by taking defensive driving but not if you took the course within a yr. you can try to fight it and take it to court but i really doubt you would win

You can have your ticket dismissed, but you will have to go before a bench officer (judge, commisioner, magistrate etc.) to do so. There should be an option on your ticket that allows you to request a hearing before the court to discuss the merits of your ticket. If you can't find one, contact the clerk of the courts office ( make a note of the time and date, get the clerks name you spoke with) and ask what needs to be done to bring this matter before the court. Generally, the ticketing officer will be asked to appear also to represent that law enforcement office, and be prepared to bring as much proof i.e. statements, forms, copies of driving school records and pictures to court as burdens of proof to substantiate your claims.
