Never, ever, try to do it on your own--- there is a good chance that you could die. Please do NOT detox from alcohol on your own. Intensive care assistance by trained doctors is required for a few days until you are out of the danger zone.

Please do not try this on your own!

Brady2:

I don't want to frighten you, but two weeks ago I attended the funeral of my best frienRAB brother who died of Alcohol withdrawals. He had decided he had enough after basically a lifetime of drinking (he was 54), and went into seizures, and had 3 heart attacks. He was put on a respirator, but after 4 days they did an EEG, and determined that there was no brain activity due to lack of oxygen.

Please, if you have been drinking for any period of time, do not attempt this on your own. I personally have lost one brother to Chiroses (sp) of the liver, and have another brother (ironically who is also 54) who is in the process of dying from the same disease.

Please put any pride you may have aside, and seek medical attention to withdraw from alcohol. It's a viscious thing.

Much luck to you. I commend you for wanting to do this. I will say a prayer for you that you are successful in your endeavor. God Bless!

BRADY2, I hope you head their warnings because your life is too important to be left to chance! Take care and good luck!

Trying to detox yourself from alcohol is a very dangerous thing to do, as the others have mentioned. It is true though, you can die from alcohol withdrawals, very scary thing to think about, but it is a fact. There are many different ways you can go about detoxing from alcohol, although all of the options should involve a professional. Good luck to you! :p
