can i connect to xbox live with my touchstone arris modem that we use for the landline home phone?? pleasehelp?

this is a stand alone modem. we have a router that we use with the cpu. i was wondering if i could use this cable modem instead of switching out with my cpu everu single time. is that possible??? please help
