Can I connect iPod touch to T-Mobile hotspot?

I was thinking about getting an iPod touch. But I know that I can only access the internet if I have wi-fi around, so I thought to get the T-Mobile hotspot service because then I can have wi-fi in a lot of places like the mall, coffee houses, etc. But I'm not sure if the iPod touch 4g can connect to the T-Mobile hotspot service. Since it's wi-fi I'm sure it can, but I just want to make sure. Thank you :]
