Can I charge my US Motorola Droid with a 220V/50Hz outlet, or will it damage it?

I bought a Droid while I was in the states. I'm in Afghanistan now and the power mains are different, so before I plug my Droid in to charge it, I want to find out if it will be safe. I know I can plug it in through my laptop but I don't have access to USB charging while at work. Would charging my phone with this countries power outlets damage my phone?
