Can i charge my lg android phone with a samsung charger with out It damaging phone charger or battery? ?

I have a lg optimus v from virginn mobile my phone charger got wet and I have charger from a samsung reality and it fits and will charge will it damage the phone battery or charger if I continue to charge my phone with the samsung charger ? Please help thanks
