Can i buy a new iphone from AT&T and terminate the contract?

Will I have to pay only the early termination fee and keep the IPHONE at the discounted price?
and I am willing to pay the first months fees etc. after 30 days..
 
you can terminate the contract at anytime but they will probably charge your for the early fee and then if the phone was bought under contract they may charge you full price for the phone but you wont have to give the phone back it may get locked by att I am not sure if they do that or not and it can go against your credit
