Can I bring my Singapore phone to US and get a Verizon plan?

We are moving to the US. I just purchased a Motorolla Q phone six months ago and want to keep using it when I get to the US. Everyone in the area I am moving to said that Verizon gives the best coverage.

Does Verizon let you sign up for a plan and use your own phone?
 
I doubt they will let you use this phone, but they might since it's windows mobile phone and they sell a moto q. Is your the GSM or CDMA version? If not CDMA then you def can't use it.
