Biology? I graduated months ago with a bachelor's degree in biology and I'm having THE HARDEST time finding a job! It seems every science position in my area that I look into requires me to have a Medical Laboratory Technician license or be a certified Clinical Lab Scientist.

At a friend's wedding recently, I happened to reunite with a friend who has the SAME exact degree as me, only difference is she graduated college about 5 years earlier than me. She is currently a blood lab scientist at a major hospital and doing wonderful financially so I asked her about jobs in our biology field... she sadly informed me that jobs like hers are much harder to get now because at the time she graduated, lab scientists didn't have to be labeled specifically as clinical lab scientist/medical technologist, they just needed sufficient lab work in college and some on the job training. I told her had I known that I wouldn't have even picked to major in biology... and she agreed. I'm feeling a little stuck, I guess the path for me is to be a clinical lab scientist/medical technologist.. but can I do that if I've already spent 4 years getting this biology degree? If so, where do I go for certification and how difficult is it to actually become one from here?
