I'm currently an aircrew member with the Air National Guard. I'm considering finishing my undergraduate degree/working in hospitality or nursing.
Since I know that realistically I'm working a lot more than one weekend a month/two weeks a year, and the above careers are long hours/demanding, is it even possible to work in these areas and still advance in rank/get promoted with both?
I can imagine that potential employers might not look favorably on me, especially since I need a flexible/unpredictable schedule due to aircrew requirements/TDYs/deployments/etc.
I would greatly appreciate any personal experiences in regards to this. Thank you for your time!
