can i be an online journalist?

i'm considering online journalism as a hobby.

i was wondering if anyone knows of an online newspaper or blog were i can become a journalist.

Iknowo i could blog, but i would prefer to be given assignments and deadlines

im not after pay, as i said a hobby.

Any ideas?

don't tell me to blog.
