CAN I BE A COP WITH AN ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN GENERAL STUDIES?

I am currently serving in the Marine Corps (I'm not an MP) and I am currently going to college while serving. Unfortunately time is not a luxury I have and I want to become a police officer when I get out. Being in the Marines I get credits because of my job and training, and if I do general studies I will receive 28 credits. But if I do an applied science in criminal justice I will receive only 7! I was wondering if I just got an associates degree in general studies and applied for a state trooper position in Michigan, with my background and training I have received in the Marines, if I would be able to get a job.
