Can I ask T-Mobile to change my SIM card?

I lost my phone recently and I have already asked T-Mobile to suspend service to it. I am still trying to look for it but I am now trying to find another option. I wanted to know if it is possible to change my current (lost) SIM to another SIM card from a previous T-Mobile phone. If so, can you also tell me of any procedures I'd need to take. Thank you!
