Can I apply for financial aid to a school I have not applied to?

I have already filed my fafsa for the university I'll be attending in the fall. However I plan on transferring in the spring and I have not applied to any schools yet (mostly because the application for the spring/winter isn't up yet). I was wondering if I can go back, add the two schools I'm looking into, and have them process my fafsa...even though I have not applied to either university.
