Can I add a Walmart phone to my att plan?

I want the Samsung Captivate, but it's way cheaper at Walmart. It's sold as an AT&T phone, but my contract isn't with Walmart, it's just with AT&T. Can I upgrade my phone at Walmart and just keep my contract with AT&T?
