Can Herpes1 spread by scratching or is it something else?

I was diagnosed just this past January with Herpes2 (genital).
Last weekend I went swimming in a friend's pool, said friend later told me they don't use chlorine in their pool, they use some new wave eco-friendly salt stuff, which I guess is why the water stunk and tasted bad when you got it in your mouth.
Anyway, three days later I had a terrible outbreak of what seemed to me like Herpes1 all around my mouth, it showed up as dry patches on the corners of my mouth and then seemed to form into clusters of pimply looking tiny blisters. Now, my entire mouth and chin is broken out. It looks like a rash. And I've made the gross mistake of scratching at it because the itch is unbearable. Now I've spread it to my eyelids, ears, neck and upper left arm. My right eyelid keeps getting bigger.
I've gone to the ER (as I do not have medical and Primary Care Physicians want an immediate cash payment) and the doctor was very callous and simply looked at my corneas with a magnifying glass and said I don't have it in my eye to go home and "be careful."

Does this sound like something Herpes1 would do? Is it possible this is not Herpes1? Has anyone experienced anything like this? Please help me. Thank you.
