Can heartburn feel like a warm sensation in throat....not just burning?

I've had GERD for a long time and it's always been treated with PPIs, until they haven't wanted to work well for me in the last 9 months. In the last few months I've noticed that sometimes I don't have the typical burning acid in throat, just a warm heat-like sensation. I get this in the top of my stomach and in my throat. I know I should know, but is this a typical heartburn symptom? Thanks!

I've had GERD/LPR for over 10 yrs and was amazed to be diagnosed with reflux since I never had heartburn. Like you, I wasn't sure exactly what it felt like to know if I had it. Since then, I have learned what it feels like to me, which may be different for many others. I would say that the feelings you are having are being caused by reflux even though they are not considered typical heartburn symptoms. Try Prilosec or some OTC meRAB to see if they help.
