guardianship of my 75 year old mother? My girlfriend and myself just moved into her 75 y/o mother's house. There is a legal battle going on between her mother and my girlfriends sister over the house. The sister does not live here anymore, due to a writ of restitution. Her sister has abused her mother for many years and was trying to cause her emotional harm. She succeeded when the mother had one stroke. After she survived that stroke, the sister continued the abuse which caused the second stroke. Her mother survived that none too, but this time she could not remember anything. The sister proceeded to place the mother in a convalescent home, leaving her there to die, saying " I can't take care of her anymore, you do what you want with her" Which then the sister continued to live in the mother's house with her three equally abusive daughter's. Bare in mind The property is owned by the mother 67% and the other 33% is my girlfriend's sisters'. The sister was only added to the title, by her mother so she would be able to gain credit. Now when my girlfriend found out that her mother was in a convalescent home she immediately rushed over there and saved her and brought her to her house (6 years ago) Well in all that time my girlfriend with the help of her mother's boyfriend, nursed her back to health. The mother is now of sound mind. My girlfriend and I are now living and taking care of the mother and to protect the mother my girlfriend needs guardianship of her mother. 2 years ago my girlfriend was hit in the face by her ex husband, but since they were living in the same house, they were both arrested for domestic violence. My girlfriend is the most caring, loving person on this earth. Will that incident effect her gaining guardianship of her mother????
