Can Great Danes and Mini Fox Terriers breed?

I have an uncut male great dane and a female mini fox terrier has come to stay with us. During her stay she has come on heat and as soon as we realized we separated the 2. Now being that while we are at work for hours a day and they could not be watched 24/7 before we separated them i am just wondering if such a big dog can physically mate with a small dog like that?
 
It's highly unlikely, but never say never and they must be separated, crates, opposite ends of the house, behind several doors, if you are leaving them alone. To be honest, as this will be upsetting your entire dog, a lot, if you can contact the owners of this b itch, I'd do so and have them come back and pick up their b itch - and arrange for her to be kennelled somewhere else, with no resident entire male!!

If there's any chance she was with your male, and could have been mated, carrying a litter sired by a Dane will potentially kill her - don't assume a mating won't happen - do something about the situation.
