I am asking this because if fish I buy end up having them I want to move them to the bowl so they wont get eaten by the other fish

yes. You might want to put an airstone in there with them. Fry can be hard to safely catch, I use a turkey baster to suck them up instead of using a net.

They will more then likely die in a fish bowl without filtration. Why not get a breeder net? It's a boxy net that hangs over the side of the tank and prevents the babies from getting out and the parents from getting in.

No, fry are much too sensitive to be stuck in a bowl without filtration and heat. You need a bare bottom tank with a sponge filter and heater.

Also, the number of fry and type of fish will determine the size of tank that you need.

What type of fish are you intending to breed? I hope you're not breeding IN the 2.5 gal because this is MUCH too small for more than one single fish.

Hope that helps...
