Can friendship survive sex?

I am close friends with a guy I've known for years - since high school - but we've always had this flirting thing going on, kind of like a running joke really. We'd give each other over exaggerated suggestive winks or we'd pretend we were going to strip for each other and then laugh about it.

But over the weekend we were tipsy and it has been a while since my last boyfriend so we were both keen and we ended up having sex. I thought it was going to be weird in the morning, but it wasn't he was the same as usual - minus the sexual jokes - and I thought everything was going to be fine. But he hasn't called me since and its unusual, mostly I'll hear from him every day (he texts me when hes bored at work) and its been four days now...

Do you think this stupid act will ruin our friendship? I'm worried we'll never be as close as we used to be.

Am I the world's biggest idiot?
 
Sex usually changes everything in friendships and relationships.
Maybe he feels awkward now that you guys have had s*x so things have changed. Don't worry about it too much. Just let nature takes its course.

uhmm i know like 5 friendships that didnt last because of sex.
but i also know some that lasted.
so maybe you should call him and ask if you two are okay.
