Can fish survive for more than 15 minutes without water?

This is kind of strange, but I let my fish die because it is so cruel I don't treat them properly. (Well it is more cruel what I did to them, but anyways). I let my fish out without water, it happened about 15 minutes when I regretted and they were still kind of moving. (no water, nothing dry floor). And I decided to let them go the aquarium again and they lived. Can this happen?

They're goldfish btw.
Guys don't play Mr Right here. I know it was wrong what I did, but your sermons don't answer my question.

If they lived then I guess so. The most simple way to euthanize fish is to freeze them. This is supposed to be relatively painless for the fish and is used by most hobbyists. You should google other ways to do this if you plan on letting them die.

Your fish might have damage from not being in water anyway so they could still die soon.
